"The Way of the World" - Nicolas Bouvier
by Agata Mleczko
In the end, the bedrock of existence is not made up of the family, or work, or what others say or think of you, but moments like this when you are exalted by a transcendent power that is more serene than love. Life dispenses them parsimoniously; our feeble hearts could not stand more. "The Way of the World" by Nicolas Bouvier
Scarce are the moments when you experience a connection with the universe and find yourself in perfect harmony. Scarce, indeed, and so precious! Although travelling is a difficult art and a demanding activity it sometimes offers moments like this, when you have the impression that your heart will explode with happiness if you don't share it with somebody. There is no way to coerce these moments from life and travel is not the tool to do that. You can't plan them but what you can do is patiently wait, keeping your eyes open so when this moment happens you are ready to embrace it.
