If adventures will not befall a lady in her own village, she must seek them abroad. "Northanger Abbey" by

"Northanger Abbey" - Jane Austen

I came across this phrase while reading Northanger Abbey years ago and immediately adopted it as my traveling motto. I come from a small town, and I always knew I'd have to venture outside its boundaries to find adventure. That's exactly what I did, and I credit Jane Austen for providing the words to live (and travel) by.

As a travel publicist in NYC, Angie Orth once spent her days communicating the news about wonderful destinations to the public, though her busy schedule rarely allowed her to experience those adventures for herself. In 2010, she traded her high-powered career for a suitcase, sold all her belongings and embarked on a solo trip around the world. Now she's a full-time travel evangelist with the mission to help travelers enjoy every minute of their vacations. Storytelling is her main priority, but she loves to share practical tips, too. She's always loved taking a mountain of information about a destination, combining it with some on-the-ground experience and then bringing it home and distilling it on Angie Away. Angie was a Top 50 finalist out of 34,000 for Australia's Best Job in the World competition and she's currently one of Southern Living's 30 Bloggers to Follow in 2015. When she's not traveling, you can find her in Jacksonville, Fla.
